Budapest, second day

Synopsis: rode the funicular to the palace, ate lunch on a river boat, walked around some more, had the most boisterous dinner yet, said goodbye to the Eugene Concert Choir.

Budapest: Hotel Karma

I whined about the hotel rooms we had in Prague and Vienna. Apparently, we earned some karma points in those two cities, because the hotel in Budapest was delightfully modern, well-equipped, and… Air conditioned! We immediately cranked the thermostat down to 15 degrees Celsius (59 degrees Fahrenheit) and left it there for two days.

Budapest!

We’ve been in Budapest for two days. Budapest feels more foreign to me than any of the other cities we’ve been to. The architecture has a bit of a Russian flavor. The people seem less Western and almost dangerous. The language is completely incomprehensible.
